The Friends of the Library (FOL) is a membership based group that supports efforts of North Platte Public Library. Book Sale events provide additional funding that the FOL utilizes to support North Platte Public Library initiatives and programming. Examples of projects the FOL group has helped fund are:
- Sponsoring Brown Bag Luncheon programming
- Funding the Read to Your Baby newborn gifts
- Provides Book Sale coupons as prizes for the NPPL Foundation Jigsaw Puzzle Tournaments
- Recovering library furniture periodically
- Lego Club partial funding for initial supplies
- Replacing North Adult Room Windows
- Painting the facility and partial carpet replacment
- Tinting adult room windows
FOL membership dues provide one (1) year of newsletters (3-4 per year) about upcoming library events and early admission to the two (2) major book sales during the year. Dues expire one (1) year from month of joining.
